Adult Depression and Anxiety Group
The Transitions Counseling Depression and Anxiety Group with a focus on DBT Skills Group meets once a week for 90 minutes. Group members learn skills based on the four modules of DBT: Core Mindfulness, Interpersonal Effectiveness, Distress Tolerance, and Emotional Regulation. Group members will attend groups for 12 weeks and the focus will be on helping members acquire the coping skills they will need for problem solving and achieving their individual goals. New skills are presented each week and homework is assigned for individuals to practice during the week. The goal is for people to build upon their current strengths and gain new skills to be able to respond rather than react, especially during times of intense emotion, crisis or conflict.
This program is recommended for individuals with a history of depression, anxiety, life adjustment, self injury, or other challenges with regulating emotions.
The Depression and Anxiety Group is held weekly on Wednesday evenings from 5:30 – 7:00pm
The cost of the group is $45 per session (most major insurance plans accepted).
